About Me

Embracing Growth, Connection, and Inner Peace

Rebecca Loos, a passionate and experienced yoga and meditation instructor, invites you on a transformative journey toward self-awareness, wellness, and balance. With years of dedicated practice, advanced training, and a teaching style rooted in authenticity and compassion, Rebecca has built a space where students can reconnect with themselves and cultivate lasting well-being.

Rebecca’s Multicultural Roots and Early Beginnings

Born in Madrid to a Dutch/Swiss father and an English/Spanish mother, Rebecca was raised in a household enriched by a blend of cultures and languages. This upbringing laid the foundation for her open-minded approach and ability to connect with people across the globe. Fluent in English, Norwegian, Spanish, Dutch, and French, she has brought this versatility and inclusivity into her yoga teachings.

Rebecca’s first exposure to yoga was during her 20s in London, where it served as a post-workout stretch and relaxation tool. Yet, she soon realized that yoga was far more than just a physical exercise; it was a practice that nourished both the mind and body, sparking a curiosity that would grow into a lifelong passion.

A New Chapter in Norway: Discovering a Deeper Practice

In 2009, life led Rebecca to the picturesque landscapes of Hemsedal, Norway. This move marked a significant shift in her journey, as she embraced a new way of living that prioritized connection to nature, family, and personal growth. While adjusting to a new language and community, she completed a rigorous three-year education to become a certified Medical Assistant in 2011. This background not only solidified her medical knowledge but also deepened her appreciation for holistic health.

Following the birth of her second child in 2012, Rebecca’s yoga practice evolved beyond its initial physical focus. She embarked on a deeper exploration of Ashtanga yoga, experiencing firsthand how the practice revealed hidden layers of resilience, presence, and joy. Each session became an opportunity for self-discovery and reflection, enhancing her commitment to share this journey with others.

From Student to Teacher: The Launch of a Studio

In 2017, Rebecca’s path took another pivotal turn as she completed her first 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training. Empowered by this achievement, she opened a cozy yoga studio in Hemsedal, creating a welcoming space for locals to experience the power of yoga. Here, she balanced her roles as an instructor, studio manager, and part-time medical assistant, fostering a thriving community while juggling the demands of work and family life.

Rebecca continued to expand her expertise, completing a 300-hour training in Vinyasa, Yin, Pregnancy, Senior, and Kids Yoga with Doug Swenson and Leah Loncar. Her commitment to growth led her to train with world-renowned teachers such as Laruga Glasser, Sharath Jois, and Sharmilla Desai during workshops and intensive retreats in India and Europe.

Embracing Change: A Focus on Family and Independence

After navigating personal challenges and the impacts of global restrictions in 2022, Rebecca chose to sell her studio and prioritize her well-being and family. This decision allowed her to refocus on what truly mattered—quality time with her loved ones and teaching in a more flexible, personalized way. As an independent instructor, Rebecca now offers tailored yoga and meditation classes in Hemsedal, at special events across Norway, and online, reaching a global audience.

Teaching Philosophy: More Than Just Movement

Rebecca’s approach to teaching goes beyond physical postures. She believes yoga is a path to creating space—within the body, the mind, and life itself. Each of her classes is designed to be a safe and nurturing environment where students can unwind, challenge themselves, and rediscover their inner balance. Through detailed guidance, laughter, and genuine connection, Rebecca encourages her students to listen to their bodies, practice mindfulness, and carry the lessons of the mat into their daily lives.

Commitment to Lifelong Learning

Rebecca’s journey as a teacher is complemented by her commitment to continuous learning. She has pursued various certifications and courses, such as:

  • Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra Training with Atman Yoga School (2021)

  • Meditation Training at Anjali Yoga School (2022)

  • 150-Hour Advanced Vinyasa Teacher Training focusing on spine and core with Jason Crandell (2022/2023)

These certifications reflect her dedication to offering diverse and rich experiences that meet the needs of every student, from beginners seeking relaxation to advanced practitioners looking to deepen their practice.
